Aim & Scope
The research conducted at the MEANING laboratory focuses on the study of mental processes and their neurocognitive, physiological, and affective underpinnings, which contribute to the onset and maintenance of psychopathological disorders and adaptation in the domains of mental and somatic health. These processes are investigated from a Bio-Psycho-Social perspective, integrating neurophysiological, biological, and behavioral measures. Our research primarily relies on experimental, psychophysiological methods, including event-related potentials (ERPs), heart rate variability (HRV), and galvanic skin response (GSR).
The main research themes of the laboratory include the study of emotional regulation and decision-making processes in addiction, the identification of neurophysiological and physiological markers of psychopathological disorders, as well as the investigation of emotional regulation disorders and their interactions with physiological and neurocognitive processes.
